I have been update Quickbooks 2008/9 from quickbooks 2002. After that I can restore data from old backup but I could not open the company file.

Don't use your computer right now. use another computer.
50% to recover back those files. The software is in this forum somewhere. I try to look around. But cannot guarantee that i can find it.
