叶慈(1865-1939)，爱尔兰剧作家、诗人，获1923年诺贝尔文学奖。此曲为爱尔兰民谣，是根据叶慈的同名诗歌《Downy the Salley Gardens》谱曲而成，初翻译为《柳园里》，是叶慈早年的诗作。他早年的诗歌韵律优美，感情细腻，辞藻华丽，象征意味浓郁，明显受到英国浪漫主义和法国象征主义诗歌的影响。叶慈曾为此诗作过下列注释称，这首诗是根据斯莱戈县巴利索戴尔村里一个经常独自吟唱的老农妇记不完全的三行旧歌词改写而成。

呵呵，这首歌嘛个人还是认为轻音乐版的好听，调调有点伤心了。给年轻人听听吧，调整下自己浮躁的心。不错滴！
